Far Too Young To Die -
Panic! At The Disco
Album:
'Far Too Young To Die' is from 'Panic! At The Disco's' 4th album, and is just one of many musical changes the band has gone through when a new album appears. Creating a mixture of punk and electric, the album itself has a lot of references to Brendan's home, Las Vegas, and a mixture of love and horror.
Background:
The concept of 'Far Too Young To Die' is youth acting irrationally due to the thought of them being invincible. With the mindset of "nothing could go wrong, I'm way too young to die" this song highlights Brendan's lack of care for the situation falling apart around him. Although 'Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die!' is a change from Panic!'s usual rock/punk melodies, 'Far Too Young To Die' still has a core punk element to it at the end of the second chorus, showing fans that they haven't changed that much.

[Verse 1]
I've never so adored you
I'm twisting allegories now
I want to complicate you
Don't let me do this to myself
I'm chasing roller coasters
I've got to have you closer now
Endless romantic stories
You never could control me
"I've never so adored you, I'm twisting allegories now" Brendan is infatuated with someone and is trying to uncover what the allegories about this person mean.
"I want to complicate you" This relates back to him "twisting allegories", it seems he's so infatuated with someone he is over-thinking who they are, making them seem more interesting than they actually are.
"I'm chasing roller coasters" A roller coaster is usually filled with twists, turns and has high points and huge drops. This is symbolism for the want of a relationship, but it seems the person he wants is making it hard for him.
"I've got to have you closer now, Endless romantic stories, You never could control me" Brendan is now craving this person, already thinking of "endless romantic stories", the person is obviously trying to persuade Brendan not to have these feelings but "You never could control me".

[Chorus]
Well I never really thought that you'd come tonight
When the crown hangs heavy on either side
Give me one last kiss while we're far too young to die.
Far too young to die
Far too young to die
"Well I never really thought that you'd come tonight" Despite Brendan's love interest trying to persuade him not to have feelings, to Brendan's surprise, she showed up to see him.
"When the crown hangs heavy on either side" This is a reference to the Shakespeare play "Henry VI Part 2" when Henry is upset about the burden of ruling a kingdom "Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown" (Mkdabach, Genius Lyrics). This line is saying that the relationship will have it's trials and it won't be easy.
"Give me one last kiss while we're far too young to die" Due to the already current warning signs, Brendan is having an 'all or nothing' attitude, essentially telling her to kiss him while there are seemingly no consequences.

[Verse 2]
Fixation or psychosis?
Devoted to neurosis now
Endless romantic stories
You never could control me
"Fixation or psychosis?" In this case, Brendan is struggling to differentiate if his obsession is fabricated within his mind.
"Devoted to neurosis now" Neurosis is a mental illness, although it doesn't make you lose touch with reality. He is ignoring the fact that he might be psychotic and chooses to believe he is sane.
"Endless romantic stories, You never could control me" Already thinking of "endless romantic stories", the person is obviously trying to persuade Brendan not to have these feelings but "You never could control me".
